About Us

First launched on June 21st, 2023, Welcome to Oregon is a history and lore podcast that explores the rich cultural heritage of Oregon state. Join us as we take a deep dive into the fascinating stories of Oregon's past, from the pioneers who traveled the Oregon Trail to the legends of Bigfoot.

In addition to the show, we offer articles on personal travel experiences, inspirational people, incredible restaurants we've visited, and much more, so not only do we teach you the history of Oregon, but also endeavor to do our best at showing you how to explore the history for yourself, preferably somewhere with good food!

Our vision is to create a community of history enthusiasts who are passionate about exploring the fascinating stories of Oregon's past. We aim to be a go-to resource for anyone interested in learning about Oregon's past, and unite historians to one banner.

Some of our other goals include funding state parks and historical sites, providing free education, and supporting Oregon based companies.

Head of Operations

Marcus Axford

A native of Monmouth Oregon, Marcus spent a lot of his life traveling around the state. When he isn't writing, he is playing video games, Magic: The Gathering, or spending time with family and friends.

Art Director/Assistant

Jessica Axford

Jessica is a native of Dallas Oregon and is responsible for the thumbnails you see for episodes of the show, as well as a lot of the art for other parts of the network. She enjoys crocheting, gardening, and playing with her daughter.

Social Media Manager

Leah Palmer-Rye

While Leah has grown up around different places in Oregon, she primarily called Eugene home. She is largely in charge of social media and enjoys a good book or a scary movie with a tray of sushi.
